So how does this whole “web design” process work?
Well, generally, the client will tell me what they are trying to accomplish with their website, ie: I want to sell merchandise, I want to raise awareness about my band, I want to make my company well known in the area, or whatever else their goal may be. If the client has any design ideas, they would also fill me in on those at this time, and then I build a first draft. From there we go back and forth with one another, the client telling me what they like and don’t like, and me making it more and more of what they want with each draft of the website. Once we have the finished product and payment is complete, the client will be given full and complete access to the “backend” of the website, and unless updates or help are needed in the future, my job is finished and the client has full control over a website that they are more than satisfied with.
How does payment work?
In most cases, the client will pay half of the agreed upon price up front, and the remainder upon satisfactory completion of the website. While you are free to pay it all up front, most clients are more comfortable with the “half now, half later” method of payment. Payments can be made via cash, check, credit card, money order, or Paypal.
I heard you offer payment plans, how does that work?
Unfortunately, websites are not always cheap to build. They can take a lot of time and depending what you want, have high costs to actually build as well. Here at Brainiac Web Designs, I understand that you may not have that much cash laying around, and so in an effort to help you, I offer payment plans. After an initial deposit is made on the balance, we can setup a monthly fee to keep your website running until the remainder of the balance is paid. While non-payment will cause your website to be shutdown, payment keeps it up and running, and you get a nice, affordable monthly payment, instead of one or two large fees up front. Of course, the monthly payment route does include interest, and control of the website will stay in my hands until the balance is paid in full.
How long does a website take to build?
There are a lot of variables that can affect the answer to this question. Have you already purchased a domain or server space? If so, is it with the same hosting company I use? What all would you like your website to be able to do? Do you already have the content ready to send to me or will you need the time to gather it up? If all of these questions are answered optimally, then I can have your website finished in as little as two days. More complicated websites, such as a Facebook or Youtube type of website, may take a week or so. Regardless, I work quickly and I work effectively, and I am never finished working for the inital cost we agreed upon until you are satisfied!
What are my hosting options if I decide to work with you?
You can always get your own hosting package and just handle it all yourself, or you can host through me for 20.00 a month. This hosting package includes unlimited bandwidth, FTP access, customer service through me, which is great because if there are ever issues, all you have to do is contact me and I will handle it for you, and more!
What happens if I am not happy with the work you are doing
and want to take my business elsewhere?
That would be unfortunate, but in the case that it does happen (and so far it has yet to occur), you would lose the first half of the agreed upon price that you already paid for me to start work on your website, the deposit, but owe nothing else. I would simply pass control of the website over to you, and wish you well.
